The Voice of Steppe

Dombra is a traditional musical instrument that is commonly associated with the Kazakh culture. Its bright, resonant tones, characterized by a twangy and metallic quality that is reminiscent of the sounds of the Kazakh steppe, such as the rustling grass, whistling wind, and distant echoes. As fellow dombra player, I deeply appreciate the instrument's inherent beauty and sounds that evoke a profound sense of belonging.

For this project, I have modeled two versions of dombra - a traditional variant and my imaginary electric adaptation. I have chosen to develop the latter, since I find it more visually interesting and uncommon.
